Getting Started

Eliminate hindsight and tap into our wealth of knowledge and resources. This basic service is designed for the newly engaged couple that wants to plan their wedding themselves, but could use some professional advice to get started.

• Detailed consultation to discuss your wedding style, design concepts, budget, etiquette and other wedding-related questions
• Comprehensive planning timeline
• A list of vendors (two in each category) best suited to your sense of style and budget, and who are available the day of your wedding
• Review samples of major vendor contracts and give you directions as to questions to ask and things to look for before signing
• Creation of a realistic estimated budget, allocating resources according to your priorities
• Electronic delivery of materials within two weeks of consultation

Fee: $375

Hourly Consultation

Our hourly consultation service is designed for couples who may already have started to plan their wedding, or who want to obtain professional advice and guidance upon certain aspects of their wedding day. It will also appeal to couples who are uncertain as to whether they require a wedding planner and would like to assess the benefits before committing to one. Couples can upgrade to Day-of, Partial or Full-Service Planning at any point during the consultation. Consultations are a minimum of two hours and may take place at your home or at your wedding venue any time during weekdays, evenings or weekends.

Day-of Coordination

This service is designed for couples who have planned their wedding, but would like someone there the day-of to ensure the event runs smoothly and as planned. This is a great service that gives couples peace of mind and the freedom to have fun at the wedding, but please realize it is not a planning service.

• Initial meeting to learn the details and discuss current plans for your wedding
• Unlimited email and telephone support
• Follow-up meeting, 4-6 weeks before the wedding, to review the final plans, which may optionally take place in conjunction with a site visit (wedding plans are formally handed over to us no later than three (3) weeks before the wedding)
• Review of all executed vendor contracts
• Site visit and walk-through with client and relevant vendors at ceremony and reception site(s)
• Final meeting to discuss and produce a wedding day schedule
• Team of planners (2-4 persons) managing and coordinating the entire event including rehearsal, ceremony and reception, vendor load-ins, setups, strikes and load-outs.

Fee: $1,400

 

Partial Planning

This service is designed for couples who wish to be fully involved with the wedding planning, but value the resources, expertise, and organization a wedding planner adds to the process.

• Initial meeting to discuss your wedding style, design concepts, budget, etiquette and other wedding-related questions
• Ongoing access to your wedding planner for advice, guidance and support throughout the planning
• Comprehensive planning timeline; tracking and reminders
• Creation of a realistic preliminary budget, allocating resources according to your priorities
• Identify and short-list the vendors who will best suit your sense of style within your budget. Vendors include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Reception venues
  • Catering              
  • Lighting
  • Florist
  • Photography
  • Videography
  • Bakery
  • Rentals
  • Bridal Salons
  • Musicians
  • Officiant (Names Only)
  • Hair and Makeup (Names Only)
• Arrangement of accommodations for out-of-town guests:
  • Negotiate room blocks
  • Purchase and assembly of welcome baskets/gifts for out-of-town guests (supply cost additional)
• Review of all vendor contracts and discuss final budget
• Attendance at all planning meetings
• Ongoing coordination and communication with vendors
• Wedding design advice and execution
• Onsite coordination and management of entire wedding day (See Day-of Coordination)

Fee starts at $2,000

 

Full-Service Planning and Design

This service is designed for couples who want a very “hands-on” wedding planner to assist in every aspect of the wedding preparations, or to plan the entire wedding for them. This service will vary according to your specific requirements, but may include all or some of the following:

• Initial meeting to discuss your wedding style, design concepts, budget, etiquette and other wedding-related questions
• From date services are contracted, minimum of one in-person consultation meeting per month
• Ongoing access to your wedding planner for advice, guidance and support throughout the planning
• Creation of a realistic preliminary budget and budget management including supplier payments
• Comprehensive planning timeline; tracking and reminders
• Managing the planning process on a day-to-day basis
• Providing marriage license information
• Assistance with selection and booking of ceremony and/or reception venues
• Assistance with the selection and booking of officiant(s)
• Assistance with selection and booking of pre-screened wedding vendors—accompanying you to as many meetings as possible
• Review of all vendor contracts, negotiation and discuss final budget
• Arrangement of accommodations for out-of-town guests
  • Negotiate room blocks and research activities
  • Purchase, assembly and delivery of welcome baskets/gifts for out-of-town guests (supply cost additional)
• Décor styling—fine-tuning your ideas to create a wedding that reflects your style
• Assistance with procuring rentals and purchasing décor accessories
• Assistance with composing wording for save-the-date cards, wedding invitations, ceremony programs, and menu cards
• Assistance with announcing engagement and wedding in the newspaper and/or sending out announcements
• Etiquette advice
• Assembly, mailing, and RSVP management for invitations
• Assistance with selection of attire for the bride, groom and wedding party
• Design and printing of ceremony programs, escort and/or place cards
• Hiring licensed nannies and entertainment to watch children on wedding day
• Hiring security for home and/or wedding site
• Hiring traffic control and valet
• Onsite coordination and management of entire wedding day (See Day-of Coordination)

Fee starts at $5,500

 

The Fine Print

The fee quoted after the initial meeting will not change unless the client wishes to upgrade to another service during the planning, or the client or the event planning process becomes excessive of the consultant’s services or time and goes beyond the scope of services originally contracted for. In such cases, the consultant’s fee for services may be adjusted accordingly for due compensation. In such instances, the consultant will request that client upgrade to the next service level, or will provide a quote for additional services and/or time. The fee is based on the level of service the client requests, the location of the wedding, the month and day of the wedding, and any special needs of the client.

The payment schedule for our planning services is as follows:

• 25% of fee amount due upon signature of contract
• 50% of fee due halfway through the planning time (date TBD at initial meeting)
• final balance due 21 days before the wedding date

Day-of coordination: 1/2 of fee amount due upon signature of contract; balance due 21 days before wedding date

Additional Day-of assistants are required for weddings with over 400 guests and will be billed at $150.00 for each additional assistant needed.

Travel fees and expenses may apply for selected venues out of a 50 mile radius of Washington, DC and these costs will be discussed and applied accordingly.
